It's nose to the grindstone for me!

I really wanted to go to the beach today and spend time in the town where my WIP is set. It's supposed to be clear and sunny, which doesn't happen very often on the Oregon coast. But my husband couldn't go today, and he said he really wants to go with me when I go. So, I'll wait, and keep writing, using my memories I have to write for now. I can always leave out details and fill them in later. It's hard for me to do that, but if I must, I will.

I've been getting some wonderful e-mails lately from readers who have enjoyed CHASING BROOKLYN. And many of them ask - what are you working on now? When will it be out??

I feel bad that I can't tell them. I mean, I could tell them the premise, but I don't like to do that, except with my husband and kids, and close writing friends. But I'm thankful they write to me and ask. Because they motivate me to keep going, probably even more than the February 28th deadline.

SO, this week, it's about writing - hours and hours of writing every day, as much as I can do!!!

Because soon, March will be here, and you know what that means!!

  1. I love going to the beach town where my WIP is set. I feel like I'm seeing along with my character.

I'm sorry you're going to miss this sunny day at your beach town, but, yay, for the fan mail and for the upcoming shower of cupcakes!

  3. At least you have the pictures/memories in your head and are able to transfer them to paper for your readers to enjoy!

  4. I think that is so sweet that your husband wants to join you. I'm sorry though that you have to wait. I am not a good wait-er so I know that is not easy. My hubby is also still adjusting to the idea of me writing so that's why I think it's special he wants to go. I get that you are torn. Sigh... Writing from memory is hard too. I am supposed to go to my old dance studio to take pictures for my WIP with a friend of mine from high school who just happens to work there and we have had to reschedule and I really want to get over there and it hasn't happened yet so I am waiting too....hard.

Also, I am the one who got Chasing Brooklyn as part of my b-day haul and asked if I could read before the others and THANK YOU again for saying YES, because I READ it ALL this last weekend and it is BEAUTIFUL!!! I LOVED it. I have added it to my sidebar on my blog in my list of faves with a link back to your website. Anyway, you may get an email from me soon too, gushing some more about it, but I wanted to be sure to tell you how much I loved it. I'm not sure I've ever called a book BEAUTIFUL before, but it truly is. CONGRATS!!! I also want to quote one of the entries (which I just fell in love with) on my blog and am wondering if that is okay...hence I will be emailing you to make sure. I know you are busy though, so I'm not really sure the best way to do that, I think I saw a link on your site... Anyway, absolutely LOVED CHASING BROOKLYN!!!!

Best wishes with your research and writing!
