This will be my last blog post of the week. I have much to do before I leave Thursday night for the Rochester Teen Book Festival. If you live in the area, I hope you'll come out! The festival is free and open to ALL, not just teens! It's just that only teen authors are featured. And WHAT A LIST OF AUTHORS it is!! Check it out!
Laurie Halse Anderson, Coe Booth, Robin Brande, Kay Cassidy, Matt de le Pena, Marissa Doyle, Simone Elkeles, Ellen Hopkins, Lindsay Cibos, Patrick Jones, James Kennedy, A.S. King, Daniel Kirk, Alisa Libby, Barry Lyga, Mari Mancusi, Lisa McMann, Ben Mikaelsen, Alyson Noel, Sarah Ockler, Amy Ryan, Me, Jennifer Smith, Terry Trueman, Vivian Vande Velde, Martin Wilson
The event is Saturday, May 15th, from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm at Nazareth College. You can go to three different author presentations during the day, and then, starting at 3:30, authors will be signing books!! I'm so excited to be a part of this wonderful day, but disappointed I won't be able to see some of MY favorite authors speak! :)

I'm going to be brave and post the video I did for The Book Pixie's blogaversary. I haven't played the guitar very long, obviously, so my apologies to musicians all around the world! Eek!!
The song comes from my novel FAR FROM YOU, and when I wrote the lyrics, I didn't have music to go with it. A few months ago, I decided it would be fun to put a tune to it, so my guitar teacher helped me, and now you can hear it for yourself!

Wanted to share this link from Portland Monthly magazine that has some of my favorite books by Oregon authors. I'm honored to be in such great company!
Hope everyone has a great, productive week and look for pictures next week from the festival!!
Can't wait for the festival! See you there:)
ReplyDeleteI thought that was great! Beautiful song. I would be SO nervous to post myself performing like that (assuming I could play a guitar, had a singing voice as nice as yours, and write a song like that), so kudos to you!
ReplyDeleteI thought your song -- and your singing -- were beautiful! After that post when you berated yourself so harshly, I prepared myself for the worst. But this was great! Good job! :) You have a beautiful singing voice and the song is lovely. I've got the book on my bedside table, ready to read!

Your video was awesome (please make more of those!) and have a BLAST at the festival. I so wish I could go. I really need to figure out the whole teleporting thing. :)
ReplyDeleteI thought that was great! Beautiful song
