And when it was time to be done for the day, I felt good. I felt successful! That's what I want - to feel successful about the work itself. That's what we can all do - feel successful when we've put in the time and done what we needed to do on whatever projects we're working on.
Creating = SUCCESS
Remember that, okay?
I also got some really nice notes yesterday. I have the best readers! Here's one line, about my YA books, from a mother who has shared my books with her teen daughter, that especially touched me.
"Sometimes we find books that are such gems, they touch our hearts and open our minds; and that is what you are able to do with your writing."
Have a great weekend!
Yay! Creating does equal success. Yesterday I had a successful day because I got into all of my characters heads and came up with some great plot points and I was able to draft an 3 Act outline. I also solidifed the major personality trait in my protag that makes her the perfect character for the story/setting I have created. Today I had a successful day in that I taught myself a ton about the time period I am writing--without going completely crossed eyed at the information overload.
ReplyDeleteThanks for the reminder :-) Here is to many more successful days for both of us!
I get such an emotional high after a productive writing session. And that comment from the mom was incredibly sweet. You must be doubly happy.
ReplyDeleteI agree. Creating something really is a form of success in itself. I love that sense of satisfaction when creating something that I believe in.
ReplyDeleteLovely note, too!
That is a lovely thing to hear indeed!
